I am senior researcher at the French demographic institute INED. I am a member of the research unit on "Mortality, health, and epidemiology" and of the research unit on "Economic demography". I am also involved in the "Old Age and Ageing" research group.
Since january 2018, I am the director of the Institute of Longevity, Elderhood and Ageing (ILVV).
My research is in the field of public health and population studies, with a specific interest on:
- Population health: Levels, trends and disparities, more particularly looking at social/gender health and mortality inequalities.
- The health deterioration process: to identify mechanisms and factors leading from chronic diseases to functional limitation and activity restrictions, with national and European data bases,
- Measurement issues: quality and comparability of survey instruments, for international harmonization of population health information.
