Vieillissements et santé

L’allongement de l’espérance de vie nous interroge sur la qualité des années de vie gagnées. Cette problématique a été largement débattue depuis les années 1980, en écho aux théories de la « compression de la morbidité », de « l’expansion des maladies chronique et troubles mentaux » et de « l’équilibre dynamique ».

Dans ce contexte, on doit s’intéresser à l’évolution des maladies et les possibles troubles, incapacités et gênes de la vie quotidienne qu’une santé fragile peut induire.

On identifie la part de la population confrontée aux situations de handicap entraînées par ces gênes, en particulier la perte d’autonomie, pour mieux comprendre ces situations : nature et ampleur des incapacités, évolutions au fil du temps, besoins de prise en charge associés...

L’analyse de ces situations doit permettre d’évaluer les besoins futurs en matière de soins et d’assistance ou de placement en institution spécialisée.
